Elsie T. (Fitzpatrick) Darden was born on March 26, 1956, to Eddie F. Fitzpatrick and Dorothy L. Thompson in Indianapolis, IN.
Elsie accepted Jesus Christ has her Lord and Savior at Loving Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. Owens. She became a long-time member of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist. She served as the Secretary for the Nurse’s Board and as President of the Deacon and Board of Director Wives.
Elsie met and fell in love with Gillous W. Darden, Sr. and the married in 1981. Elsie worked and retired from General Motors after thirty -two years of dedicated service.
“Mrs. Peaches”, as she was affectionately called by all who knew her and loved her. She had unconditional love to her family and every one she met . She never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. She loved her children, grandchildren, church family and close friends. She touched a lot lives and will be truly missed.
Elsie departed this life of Monday, March 18, 2024 surrounded by her family, She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jean Darden, granddaughter Brealynn Berry; brother Michael Lightfoot; uncle Charles Thompson and aunt Annie Mae Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her husband Gillous Darden Sr.; daughters, Tuewana (David) Robinson and DeAnna Fitpatrick; sons, Don (Sharon) Darden, Dewon (Victoria) Darden, Robert (Ruby) Fitpatrick, and Gillous (Venita) Darden Jr.; grandchildren, Fredrick Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitpatrick, Jazlynn Darden, Dylin Kirkpatrick. DaShawn Collier, Daniel Berry, Gillous Darden III, and Grant Darden; great- grandchildren, Journee Fitzpatrick, Malaia Pierre , and Michael Fitzpatrick Jr.
